April is a fabulous month. The long days are back, there is a palpable sense of renewal as trees come into leaf, and the March blossom explosion continues. I couldn't do anything else but focus on the spring beauty this month.

Wild garlic. For me, the heady scent of wild garlic is the scent of spring. Sadly, it doesn't last - by the end of April, it was starting to fade.

The owl and the daffodils. The shelter in the park has bbeen refurbushed with some dramatic images by the student from a local school. I think he's done a great job. I loved the contrast with the daffodils.

Colours of spring. Trees are coming into leaf. This willow was one of the earliest and I loved the way the light caught it and picked out its freshness.

Cherry Blossom. There's cherry blosson everywhere in the park. I prefer the more subtle white blossom to the pink.

Apple Blossom. In the community orchard, the apple blossom is ready to burst into flower.
