I didn't have too much time for photography this month - we were on holiday for two weeks and when we got back, it was very hot and I didn't do much walking. So, all of these images were taken around the end of the month when the heat had subsided a little.
I'm coming to the end of my one year project and one clear benefit of it is that it has helped me discover the kind of photography that I most enjoy. I like finding and photographing detail in everyday subjects that most people would never notice.
Most of the cherry trees in the park are flowering cherries and rarely produce any fruit. When they do, it's often sparse so I was lucky to get this picture of a single cherry.
The hot dry summer has meant that most flowers in the wildflower meadow are finished earlier than usual. The vegetation is bleached and dry. In this image, I've tried to convey this dryness by deliberate over-exposure.
There wasn't a big crop of plums this year in the community orchard.
I have no idea who Czika is, but he or she is a very prolific graffiti artist in the park. Rather a limited range as all they seem to do is to write their name. I've included this image because of the different textures on the wall.
This lonely pram was left on its own on the otherwise deserted outdoor stage. No sign of ots owner anywhere. I think the image with the solitary pram and the tree shadows has a strangeness that I liked.
